5K Run To Support Bethpage's Safe Center This Weekend

It takes place on Saturday morning.

BETHPAGE, NY — The Safe Center, a nonprofit victim service organization, is hosting an annual 5K run on Saturday morning.

The run, called "Don't Be a Fool, Abuse is No Joke," will start and finish at the Bethpage office on Grumman Road West.

It is co-chaired by board member and former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.

"I love running 5Ks and think it’s a great way to pull people into a cause," said Curran.

Curran’s team has already received gifts or pledges totaling more than $10,000.

The price is $40 to sign up.

Funds raised will go to support the critical work of The Safe Center’s staff as they support and empower victims of interpersonal violence and abuse.
