Beloved Music Educator At Hicksville Schools Receives Award
Kerri Kamping is honored by NYSSMA for her teaching skills and for advancing music education in NYS.

HICKSVILLE, NY — Kerri Kamping, music educator at Hicksville Public Schools, has been named the recipient of the 2025 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Early Career Achievement Award.
This award honors a pre-K-12 music educator in New York State who, during the first five to fifteen years of their career, has exhibited exceptional teaching skills and a strong dedication to advancing music education in the state.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate Ms. Kamping’s achievement,” Chad Wyman, supervisor of fine arts for Hicksville Public Schools, said in a release. “Her dedication to fostering musical growth and enthusiasm among her students and within our school community is truly commendable. This award is a testament to the high quality of our music program and the passionate educators who lead it.”

NYSSMA is a state affiliate of the National Association for Music Education and supports music education in New York, according to a release.
