Crash In Nassau Kills Man Crossing Street: Police

NEW CASSEL, NY — A pedestrian was killed by a car on Sunday night in New Cassel, police said.

The male victim was struck by a 2015 BMW crossing Prospect Avenue near State Street, police said.

The 27-year-old driver remained at the scene. After the first collision, a second vehicle struck the man on Prospect Avenue and fled, authorities said.

The victim suffered injuries to his head and chest. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital a short time later.
