Fire At Bethpage Church Shuts Stewart Avenue

BETHPAGE, NY — A fire at a church in Bethpage has shut part of Stewart Avenue in both directions.

The fire broke out at St. Isodoros Greek Orthodox Church earlier this afternoon. Church officials and firefighters were seen rescuing objects from the building.

Police have shut down Stewart Avenue between Cypress Avenue and Cherry Avenue. This could affect cars around Bethpage High School, which is just down the block from the church.

Drivers should use an alternate route.
