Fire At Long Island Hotel Displaces Guests
The fire broke out Wednesday evening and forced everyone out of the hotel. No one was injured.
HICKSVILLE, NY — More than a half-dozen fire departments responded to a fire at a local hotel, which displaced all of the guests staying there.
The fire started around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday at the Days Inn at 828 South Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville. When first-responders arrived, they found smoke coming from the building, and were told that all the guests had evacuated.
The Hicksville Fire Department was first on the scene, and was assisted by the Levittown, Syosset, South Farmingdale, Carle Place and Plainview fire departments, as well as the Wantaugh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The Red Cross also responded to assist the guests who were displaced by the fire and move them to new hotels.

No one was injured in the fire.
Police say the Arson/Bomb Squad, Nassau County Fire Marshal and the Town of Oyster Bay building inspectors were on the scene investigating. The investigation is ongoing, but police say the fire does not seem to be suspicious.
