Nassau Man Fraudulently Obtains $36K Loan From Credit Union: Police

Alexander Carlton faces a grand larceny charge, and 2 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, police say.

HICKSVILLE, NY — A Hempstead man was taken into custody after being accused of a grand larceny involving fraudulent paystubs in April, police said.

Alexander Carlton, 40, entered Island Federal Credit Union on East Old Country Road in Hicksville and fraudulently obtained a loan for more than $36,000, using fake paystubs and a counterfeit New York State driver's license, police said.

Carlton then purchased a 2022 blue BMW and failed to make the required payments on the loan, police said. The Island Federal Credit Union reported the car stolen, police said.
