Hicksville Fire Department Hosting Blood Drive In March

There's a critical shortage of blood nationwide. You can sign up now to donate and save a life.

HICKSVILLE, NY — The Hicksville Fire Department is hosting a blood drive next month, and residents are encouraged to donate if they are able.

The pandemic drove down blood donations, creating a nation-wide blood shortage. So donations are needed now more than ever.

The community blood drive will be held at the Hicksville Fire Department building at 20 East Marie St. It will be held from 2:45 to 8:45 p.m. on Tuesdasy, March 15.

Walk-ins will be taken if capacity allows, but appointments are preferred. You can make an appointment by clicking here, or by calling the New York Blood Center at 1-800-933-BLOOD.

Facemasks are required for all donors, regardless of vaccination status. Donors should eat and drink healthy food before donating. Remember to bring a form of identification, or a blood donor ID card.
