Hicksville GEMs Honored For Contributions In STEM
Members of the Hicksville High School's Girls in Engineering and Mathematics program were recently honored.

The Hicksville Board of Education recently honored members of Hicksville High School’s Girls in Engineering and Mathematics program for their efforts to increase awareness and familiarize female students with career opportunities within the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields.
Hicksville’s GEM members hosted a series of STEM workshops at the Hicksville Public Library on Thursdays and Saturdays last summer. The sessions were geared toward middle school female students and included several DNA extraction activities.
Hicksville High School GEM is comprised of seniors Cindy Cheng (founder), Divya Dommaraju, Anjali Ranu (co-founder), Fatima Warda and junior Sejal Gupta.
