Hicksville Junior Firefighters Earn Prestigious Award
The group was the recipient of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York's "Youth Group of the Year Award."
Hicksville Junior Firefighters were recipients of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York's "Youth Group of the Year Award" at a special ceremony on July 8.
The youth program has 23 members between the ages of 14 to 18 that are dedicated to serving the community and fire department.
Hicksville Junior Firefighter alumni include a Chief of the Department, three fire commissioners, and numerous fire officers.

The ceremony was part of the Hicksville Fire Department's week-long 125th anniversary celebration.
At the celebration, numerous citations were given by representatives of FASNY, New York State, Nassau County, legislators, assembly members and the Nassau County Fireman's Association.
