Hicksville Landmark Could Reopen Early Next Year: Report
The beloved restaurant is temporarily closed after a fire caused damage to its interior.
HICKSVILLE, NY — Hicksville landmark House of Donuts was destroyed in a fire last week, but the business could reopen thanks to an outpouring of community support, according to a CBS News report.
The fire reportedly started at a business on East Marie Street Thursday, before spreading to House of Donuts and causing the restaurant’s floor to cave in, among other damage. In the wake of the fire, a GoFundMe page organized to help the restaurant owners rebuild has already raised over $38,000.
According to CBS News’ Jennifer McLogan, the rapid fundraising could allow House of Donuts to reopen as soon as early next year.
