Hicksville Man Charged With Sexual Crimes Against Juvenile: Police

Geoffrey Gerber was transported by police to Bridgewater, Massachusetts, after an arrest by New York State Police, authorities say.

BRIDGEWATER, MA — A Hicksville man was arrested after a five-month investigation into alleged crimes against a juvenile, police in Bridgewater, Massachusetts announced.

Geoffrey Gerber, 29, was arrested and charged with counts of disseminating obscene matter to a minor, obscene telephone calls/electronic communications, enticing a child under 16, post/exhibit child in sexual act and aggravated rape of a child, ten-year age difference, police said.

On Thursday, Aug. 14, Bridgewater police detectives transported Gerber back from the Nassau County Sheriff's Department, where he was being held after New York State Police arrested him on a warrant obtained by Bridgewater Police Detectives.

He was booked at that time at the Bridgewater Police Department, later transported to the Plymouth County Correctional Facility in Plymouth, and then brought to Brockton District Court, police said.

The investigation began when the victim contacted Bridgewater Police. A Bridgewater police detective, with assistance from the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office and the Children's Advocacy Center, determined Gerber had contact with the juvenile victim through multiple social media platforms, police said.
