Large Amount Of Anabolic Steroids Seized From Bethpage Home: PD

One man faces drug possession charges while another faces drug sale charges.

Two people were arrested for possessing anabolic steroids and other controlled substances on Thursday and Friday in Bethpage, police say.

According to authorities, a 22-year-old Hicksville resident Joseph Tumbarello was in the passenger seat of a BMW that was pulled over for a traffic violation on South Oyster Bay Road near Rice Street at 9:50 p.m. Police say they saw Tumbarello attempting to hide something in his pants pockets. He was arrested after he was found to be in possession of Oxandrolone, anabolic steroids, testosterone in addition to other controlled substances, police say.

A subsequent investigation led to the home of 34-year-old Bethpage resident Christopher Bretton, who was found to be in possession of large quantities of anabolic steroids, testosterone vials, vials of growth hormones, cannabis vape and hypodermic needles, police say. He was placed under arrest.

Tumbarello was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned Thursday. Bretton was charged with 15 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and four counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance. He will be arraigned Friday.
