LONG ISLAND, NY — A man died after being struck on the Long Island Rail Road tracks just west of Bethpage Wednesday night, the MTA LIRR said.
Service was suspended east of Hicksville on the Ronkonkoma Branch after a person on the tracks was struck by a train at 9 p.m., officials told Patch.
Passengers on the train were brought back to the Hicksville station, where they were able to disembark and board another westbound train, officials said.
