Man Fatally Struck By Car In Westbury

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the street on Thursday night, police say.

According to authorities, a 57-year-old man was crossing the street at Old Country Road, near Evelyn Avenue, when he was struck by a 2009 Nissan traveling westbound at 8:18 p.m.

The man suffered severe body trauma. Nassau County Police ambulance transported him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The Nissan was driven by a 43-year-old man.

The investigation is ongoing.
