Police say they recovered the weapon from the passenger in a car pulled over for a routine traffic stop.
NEW CASSEL, NY — A Brooklyn man was arrested in New Cassel Thursday night after police say they found an illegal handgun on him during a traffic stop.
Officers at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Magnolia Avenue saw a 2019 Dodge Charger with a suspended registration, police said. The officers pulled the car over and started an investigation.
The passenger in the car, 38-year-old Ishmel Cohen, started making "furtive movements," police said, and the officers told him to get out of the car. During a search of the car, police say the officers found a loaded 9mm Glock 43x with 10 rounds of ammunition. Cohen was arrested without incident.
