Nassau Honors Cop Who Saved Woman's Life On Hicksville Train Tracks
Officer Chelsea Penn saved the life of a woman who was trying to commit suicide last September.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — On Monday, the Nassau County Legislator honored a police officer who saved the life of a woman in Hicksville last year.
On Sept. 11, 2022, Officer Chelsea Penn of the 8th Precinct was on patrol in Hicksville and stopped at a train crossing when the rails came down. As she was sitting in car, Penn noticed a woman lying on the tracks, not moving as the train was approaching.
Penn turned on her emergency lights and got out of her car, yelling for the woman to get off the tracks. However, the woman continued to lay there. Penn ran onto the tracks and pulled the woman away just seconds before the train came by.
