Police ID Man Stabbed To Death In Hicksville Restaurant
A Hicksville man was killed during a fight at a Peruvian restaurant in the area, police said.
HICKSVILLE, NY — Police have identified a Hicksville restaurant worker who police say was stabbed to death by a coworker armed with a piece of glass on Thursday, July 16.
Elvin Padilla, 37, of Hicksville, was stabbed to death by coworker David Jimenez Salazar, 22, of Farmingdale, at La Candela, a Peruvian restaurant on South Broadway, police say.
Jimenez Salazar was charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon after the killing.

Police were called to the restaurant around 10:45 p.m. July 16 for a report of a bleeding man. Police say that Jimenez Salazar slashed Padilla during a fight. A police medic declared Padilla dead at the restaurant.
Jimenez Salazar was placed in custody at the restaurant and was arraigned Friday, July 17. He was remanded into custody.
