HICKSVILLE, NY — The Nassau County SPCA is offering a reward of $6,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the person who shot and killed a cat in Hicksville earlier this month.

According to the SPCA, Stella, an 11-year-old cat, was let out early in the morning on Sept. 1, and did not return that evening, which was unusual for her. Her family searched all weekend, but couldn't find her.

On Sept. 4, the family heard Stella whimpering and found her under a bush. They rushed her to a vet, where they found she had been shot twice. She soon died from her wounds.

The Nassau County SPCA is offering the $6,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever shot Stella. Anyone with information is asked to call 516-THE-SPCA.
