Cops ID Pedestrian Fatally Struck While Crossing Old Country Road

A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle on the night of Thursday, Dec. 13 in Westbury, police say.

According to authorities, a 63-year-old woman was crossing Old Country Road, near School Street, when she was struck by a westbound vehicle at 8:42 p.m.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County Police Department Medic.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was taken to an area hospital to be treated for a stress-released issue.
The pedestrian's name is being withheld pending family notification. The investigation into this incident continues.
