HICKSVILLE, NY — A person was struck by an equipment Long Island Railroad (LIRR) train in Hicksville, causing temporary delays, the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) announced on social media.

Service was suspended between Mineola and Hicksville due to a person being struck by an equipment train near Hicksville, the MTA posted at 11 p.m. Police, EMS and LIRR personnel attended to the scene.

Partial service has been restored through Hicksville while police continue an investigation in the area after a person was struck by an equipment train.
