Police ID Man Dead In LI Car Fire; Drunken Driver Charged With Manslaughter: PD
The driver involved in the crash faces manslaughter and vehicular manslaughter charges, police say.
HICKSVILLE, NY — A man died after his car became engulfed in flames following a crash in Hicksville on Saturday night, and another man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the collision, Nassau police said.
Jannai Allen, 30, of Westbury, was driving a 2014 Subaru eastbound on Prospect Avenue when he made a left turn north on Cantiague Rock Road around 11:20 p.m., police said. The Subaru struck a 2005 Honda driven by Miguel Nolasco, 42, of Roosevelt, who was traveling westbound on Prospect Avenue, police said.
The Subaru caught fire and became fully engulfed after the crash, police said. Allen was trapped and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Nolasco was taken to a nearby hospital for his injuries, police said. Nolasco was intoxicated at the time of the crash and arrested, police said following an investigation.
Nolasco was charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter, and driving while intoxicated, police said. He will be arraigned when medically practical, police added.
