Police ID Passenger Killed In Nassau Crash

The driver hit a tree, police say.

HICKSVILLE, NY — Police have identified a passenger who died after a driver lost control of her car early Friday in Hicksville and struck a tree, crashing the vehicle, police said.

The man was identified as Pablo Amarilla, 52, of Stewart Manor, police said.

A 51-year-old woman was driving a 2003 Honda Accord on East Barclay Street just before 2:30 a.m., police said. She crashed into a tree near the intersection with Bay Avenue, police said.

Amarilla was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County police medic, authorities said.

The driver was brought to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
