An asphalt hot box the Town of Oyster Bay Highway Department uses to repair pot holes broke out into flames on Friday morning in Hicksville, according to fire officials.

Hicksville firefighters responded to a parking lot on Heitz Place to find the burning box at 8:27 a.m. Highway Department crews said they saw the box they were towing was on fire and pulled it into a safe area.

No injuries were reported.
