Voter's Guide: Hicksville 2018-19 School Budget, Board Election

What you need to know for election day.

Residents in the Hicksville Central High School District will vote on the school district's $135,686,223 proposed budget for the 2018-19 school year on Tuesday, May 15.

The proposal calls for a 0.67 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase is 1.89 percent, which is within the tax levy cap.

Residents will have an opportunity to elect two members to the Hicksville Board of Education. Incumbent Phil Heckler is running unopposed while incumbent Brenda Judson is being challenged by Kyle Singh, according to Newsday.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
