Woman In Custody For $9,000 Elder Scam On LI: Police
Michelle Mcintosh had called a 72-year-old man in Texas and claimed he won the lottery, police said.

HICKSVILLE, NY — A Farmingdale woman was arrested on Wednesday in connection to an elder scam.
Michelle Mcintosh, according to Nassau Police, contacted a 72-year-old man living in Texas and told him he won a lottery.
The victim was instructed to mail a $9,000 fee to collect his winnings, police said.

He complied and when Mcintosh arrived at the Hicksville Post Office to retrieve the money, she was taken into custody without incident, authorities said.
Mcintosh is charged with third-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. She was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday at District Court in Hempstead.
