1 Hurt After Car Crashes Into Huntington Clothing Store

The incident occurred Saturday afternoon.

One person was injured after a car crashed into an occupied Huntington clothing store on Saturday afternoon.

According to fire officials, the car struck the side of the Jos A. Bank clothing store, located at 229 Main St., at 4:05 p.m.

The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Huntington Hospital. Six people inside the store at the time of the crash were uninjured.

Emergency responders from the Huntington Fire Department, Huntington Community First Aid Squad and Suffolk Police responded to the scene. The Huntington Building Department was notified to respond and check for structural damage.

Huntington firefighters were on the scene with an engine and a heavy rescue truck. Crews were under the direction of Assistant Chiefs Brian Keane and Sean Schwier, according to PIO Steve Silverman.
