5 Sold Vapes, Cannabis Or Alcohol To Minors In Town Of Huntington: PD

Five of nine stores did not meet a compliance check for age-related vape sales, police say.

TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — Five people were arrested Thursday after they sold vape products, cannabis or alcohol to people under the age of 21 during compliance checks at multiple Town of Huntington businesses, Suffolk police said.

Officers checked nine stores after receiving community complaints.

The following four people were charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and public health law, sale of flavored products after selling vape products to an underage police agent, police said:

  • Mehboog Patel, 55, of Hicksville, employed at Huntington Smoke & Cigar, at 517 E. Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station.
  • Shatha Sheela, 22, of Jericho, employed at Venom X, at 217 Walt Whitman Road, Huntington Station.
  • Piara Singh, 61, of Huntington Station, employed at FMS Vapes, at 825 Walt Whitman Road, Melville.
  • Abdul Shakoor, 42, of Selden, employed at Rollie’s Smoke III, at 144 W. Hills Road, Huntington Station.

AkashDeep Singh, 22, of Floral Park, employed at A to Z Smoke & Convenience, at 581 W. Jericho Turnpike, Huntington, sold cannabis and alcohol to an underage police agent, police said. He was charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, unlawful sale of cannabis, and sale of cannabis without a license.

All five were issued field appearance tickets and are set to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
