Dancing With The Stars Couple Hold Fairytale Wedding At Oheka Castle
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd's wedding had a star-studded guest list.
HUNTINGTON, NY— Dancing With The Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd tied the knot during a fairytale wedding held at Oheka Castle on Saturday night.
The historic castle, located in Huntington, had a star-studded attendance for the #chmergatroydwedding, including the groom's brother Val Chmerkovskiy and fellow DWTS pros like Sharna Burgess, Kym Herjavec, Jenna Johnson and Tony Dovolani.
"To the bride and groom... congrats on one of the most magical wedding experiences I have ever been able to attend," Johnson wrote in an Instagram post. "What a beautiful moment for all of us to watch your love confirmed forever!!!! So happy I could witness your fairytale ."

According to a New York Daily News article in 2013, Chmerkovskiy has family in Huntington. The professional ballroom dancer and his family immigrated from Ukraine to Brooklyn in 1994, according to the New York Times.
He told ABC News he always knew he wanted to get married at Oheka Castle after first seeing it when he immigrated to America. “And now it’s happening,” he told the publication.
The Dancing With The Stars couple began dating in 2012, broke up in 2013, reunited in 2014 and became engaged on stage during a “Sway: A Dance Trilogy” performance in December 2015. Their son Shai Aleksander was born in January 2017.

Oheka is often in the spotlight. Taylor Swift filmed her “Blank Space” music video at the castle in 2014 while Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers was married there in 2009. And many a film has been shot there, including “Citizen Kane” in 1941, and the TV series, “Royal Pains.” It is also a popular venue for fundraising events.
Oheka Castle is currently owned by Gary Melius, who made headlines in February 2014 after he was shot in the head by a masked gunman. Melius, a political donor, survived, and no arrests have been made in the shooting.
