Former St. Anthony's Lacrosse Stars Shine
Princeton's Tom Schreiber and UMass' Will Manny are among the NCAA men's lacrosse leaders in total points.
Princeton sophomore midfield Tom Schreiber scanned the NCAA scoring leaders and saw a familiar name.
The former standout, a star quarterback and lacrosse player, is tied for fifth in Division I, averaging 4.5 points per game.
And yet he's not even the most prolific scorer from St. Anthony's. UMass' Will Manny is third in the nation in points (4.71). Manny, a junior from Massapequa, had a 7-goal, 2-assist game in a February win over Army.

Schreiber, the Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2011, has 14 goals and 13 assists so far this season.
“I did a lot of extra work this summer to get stronger and faster,” said Schreiber, who is from East Meadow. “My dad helped me with shooting.”

But Schreiber claims Princeton is simply playing more as a unit and result is a 4-2 mark, highlighted by a 12-6 blowout of Hofstra.
Manny, a junior attack, has 21 goals and 12 assists to help UMass to a hot 7-0 start. He has an impressive .583 shooting percentage, also good for third in the nation.
"Will always had that talent," Schreiber told Patch. "It's good to see he's finally getting some credit for it."
UMass is ranked third in the USILA Coaches poll while Princeton is 13th. If they meet, it'll be in the NCAA Tournament.
