Huntington Breaks Ground On New Halesite Marina Park
Plans include replacing a bulkhead, redesigning the parking lot to add more spaces, and replacing the flag pole with a light-up version.

HALESITE, NY — Construction is underway at Halesite Marina Park, the Town of Huntington announced Friday.
Halesite Marina Park is the waterfront park directly behind the Halesite Fire Department north of Halesite Marina. In the coming months, Halesite Marina Park will be undergoing a major facelift, according to the town.
The project's completion is slated for the end of next summer.

Plans include:
- Replacing the 60-year old bulkhead and new expanded floats to benefit transient and resident boaters.
- A redesign of the parking lot to improve traffic flow and add 15 parking stalls.
- Replacement of the existing flagpole, including a flag lighter with LED lighting.
The overall look of the park will be consistent with Halesite Marina, the town said. Concrete paths will be replaced with brick pavers and decorative pedestrian street lighting will be added. The entire park will be replanted with native species plants and natural pollinators to improve the overall environmental feel of the park.
