Huntington Community First Aid Squad Celebrates 50 Years

One member was recognized for being there since the beginning.

The Huntington Community First Aid Squad recently celebrated 50 years while one member was honored for being there since the beginning.

Local officials and members attended the Squad’s 50th Anniversary Installation and Inspection on Saturday, March 3 at the Crest Hollow Country Club.

A special proclamation was presented to HCFAS by Legis. Tom Donnelly for the group's dedication to the community. He also recognized longtime member Robert Loysch for five decades of service. Loysch joined the squad in January 1968.

“We are extremely grateful to all of the Huntington Community First Aid Squad volunteers over the past 50 years for their selfless service to our residents,” Donnelly said in a press release. “It was a privilege to be able to thank and honor these volunteers, especially 50-year member Robert Loysch, for his ongoing commitment to the Huntington community.”

HCFAS was formed on Dec. 27, 1967 and has since grown to have 280 members and respond to over 6,000 calls per year.
