Huntington Hospital Achieves Level III Trauma Center Verification
The hospital was recognized by the American College of Surgeons Committee for providing top care to injured patients.

Huntington Hospital has been verified as a Level III trauma center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee for providing top care to injured patients.
Huntington Hospital’s trauma program features three full-time acute care/trauma surgeons who work with community physicians, orthopaedic surgeons and physicians from other specialty areas.
Huntington Hospital prides itself on the quick response of the surgical team.

“With surgeon response time being so quick, our commitment to responding to traumatic injuries within our community is evident,” Daniel Galvin, DO, director of the trauma program at Huntington Hospital, said in a press release. “The trauma program surgeons are dedicated to continuing to improve the care of the injured patient.”
To meet the standards set by ACS, verified trauma centers must show their ability to meet the needs of injured patients across the continuum of care.

Huntington Hospital says it demonstrated their multitude of protocols to implement trauma care, developed a trauma-related injury prevention plan for the community and participated in regional and state trauma committees in order to “address the needs of all injured patients.”
