Huntington Police Blotter: Man Charged In Knifepoint Robbery Attempt

ALSO: A man was stabbed in the chest by a group of men while out on a walk; and perfumes stolen from Bloomingdale's, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Nov. 25 through Dec. 1.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Nov. 29: Artiom Charland, 20, of Northport, displayed a knife and tried to steal money from someone on Fort Salonga Road in Northport at 2:45 p.m. Nov. 28, police said. The person who Charland was attempting to rob did not give him any money, police said. Charland was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery: forcible theft armed with a deadly weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of weapon: firearm/weapon.

Incidents

  • Nov. 28: Assault (second-degree) was reported on New York Avenue in Huntington Station at 11:30 p.m. A man was walking when he was attacked by a group of men and stabbed in the chest, police said. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.
  • Nov. 27: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station at 2:06 p.m. Someone stole assorted perfumes from Bloomingdale's at 6:50 p.m. Nov. 26, police said.
  • Nov. 25: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on New York Avenue in Huntington at 4 p.m. Someone accessed someone else's bank account and withdrew funds, police said.
