Long Island Pastor Accused Of Sexually Abusing Teen: Police

The pastor sent an inappropriate photo and text to the girl and had sexual contact with her in the church's basement, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — A pastor was arrested Thursday after he was accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl in March, Suffolk police said.

The girl's sister called 911 on Wednesday to report her 15-year-old sister had been sexually abused by a pastor who works at the Huntington Seventh-Day Adventist Church, at 21 West 9th St., Huntington Station, police said.

Detectives said Clinton Bucknor, 71, of Huntington, sent an inappropriate photo and text to the girl and had sexual contact with the teen in the church's basement in March.

Bucknor was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree criminal solicitation, one count of third-degree sexual abuse, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

He will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.

"Detectives are asking anyone with additional information or if you believe you are a victim to call the Special Victims Section at 631-852-6531," the department wrote.
