Huntington Station Revitalization Committee Sets 2nd Meeting
Public feedback will be asked for regarding goals for the downtown area, revitalization themes, and potential projects.
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — The second Huntington Station Downtown Revitalization Initiative is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Hugh of Lincoln RC Church, at 21 E. 9th St., Huntington Station, the town announced.
Residents, businesses owners and other interested people were invited to join a community meeting to learn more about the initiative and give feedback.
Thursday’s meeting is the second of three designed to inform and engage the community in the revitalization process. The public will be given an overview of some of the proposed preliminary projects for the revitalization effort. People can offer feedback on these proposals and share their ideas.

"The Town of Huntington continues to be encouraged by the participation and excitement the Huntington Station community has demonstrated with this revitalization project," Huntington Supervisor Ed Smyth said in a news release. "We look forward to working with all stakeholders to ensure we are putting our best plans in motion for the betterment of the entire community."

The Town of Huntington was awarded $10 million through the New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) program, an approach toward boosting local economies by transforming communities into vibrant neighborhoods where "the next generation of New Yorkers will want to live, work, and raise a family."
