Huntington Supports Organ Donation Awareness Month With Flag Raising
It recognized April as Donate Life Month and launched a yearlong campaign to spread awareness and advocate for organ donation.
HUNTINGTON, NY — The Town of Huntington and LiveOnNY recognized April as Donate Life Month with a flag-raising ceremony held Friday, the town announced. The town also kickstarted a yearlong campaign dedicated to spreading awareness and advocating for organ donation.
The ceremony was held 1 p.m. at the Veterans Plaza of Huntington Town Hall.
LiveOnNY is a nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating lifesaving organ donations, caring for families of donors, educating and advocating for the power donation holds. It is the federally designated organ procurement organization for the Greater New York City area.

"The Town is renewing its commitment to organ donation, especially with Town employees who recently had major organ transplants," the town stated.
