Huntington Teacher Shaves Head For Childhood Cancer
Maria Canino also raised $1,775 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

A Huntington High School teacher and coach recently shaved her head during a St. Baldrick's Day fundraiser.
Maria Canino, who has been a physical education teacher at Huntington since September 2014, not only shaved her head, but raised $1,775 to support finding a cure for childhood cancer, according to the Huntington Union Free School District.
Canino has coached JV girls' volleyball, soccer and softball at Huntington.

Canino is also a Huntington alum; she graduated from Huntington High School in 2007 and went on to obtain an undergraduate degree at Adelphi University and a graduate degree from Stony Brook University. She is also certified in health education.
