The Last Word Has Modern Peruvian Fare, Cocktails In Huntington
The restaurant puts new twists on family recipes and has 20 craft cocktails to try in an "elegant" space in Huntington Village.
HUNTINGTON, NY—A new restaurant in Huntington Village is bringing modern twists to Peruvian food, along with an expansive cocktail menu. The Last Word opened this fall at 13 Wall St.
Owners Jeff Alvarado and Matthew Sanchez spent years working at some of the area's most well-known restaurants like Prime, Nicky's and The Shack. They decided to take some of Alvarado's family's recipes—they are Peruvian —and create shareable dishes, the two told Patch.
There are ceviche dishes, musses served on individual spoons and a steak stew served inside a sourdough bread bowl.

Alvarado develops a rotating selections of craft cocktails, including four with the Peruvian spirit pisco. The idea is for diners to share the high-end but accessible dishes and sample the carefully-constructed cocktails.
"We wanted to create an elegant place to go out."
