'Made in Huntington Film & TV Festival' Planned In Township

The town is hoping to lure Hollywood to Huntington with a four-day festival, featuring food, music, screenings and interviews.

HUNTINGTON, NY — The Town of Huntington on Monday announced its "Made in Huntington Film & TV Festival," scheduled for Nov. 7 through Nov. 10.

The town is hoping to "lure Hollywood to Huntington" in an ongoing effort to attract the film and TV production industry to Huntington, Supervisor Ed Smyth said.

  • The planning committee led by honorary chairperson Huntington Supervisor Ed Smyth consisting of nearly 50 Long Island business and community leaders.

  • Submission deadlines.
  • "Made in Huntington" website launch announcement.

The two objectives of the festival, according to the town, are: to provide content creators with a unique platform for showcasing their work in the New York metro area, and to invite the film and TV production industry, worldwide, to consider Huntington as a base for their future productions.

The festival will feature screenings throughout the four-day event, plus nightly receptions, daily seminars, talks with filmmakers, talent, producers and industry executives, and several special events, including an outdoor food and music festival that will be free and open to the public.

The Made in Huntington Film and TV Festival is being funded in part by the Town of Huntington’s Cultural Affairs Institute, a 501-c3 corporation, as well as through 25 exclusive sponsorships, submission fees, and ticket sales.

The Festival is produced by the Town’s Office of Film & Television. Joe Schramm directs the department.
