Man Steals Puppy From Huntington Station Pet Store: Police

The man stole the 3-month-old Maltipoo on Monday morning, police say.

A man stole a puppy from a Huntington Station pet store on Monday morning, police say.

According to authorities, the man entered Selmer's Pet Land, located at 125 East Jericho Turnpike, and stole a 3-month-old Maltipoo, worth about $2,500, at 10:50 a.m. The man fled on food with the puppy westbound on Jericho Turnpike, then headed north on Poplar Avenue.

Police described the man as black, in his mid-to-late 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and with a mustache or goatee. He was wearing gray camouflage pants, a green hooded sweatshirt and a knit cap.
