S. Huntington Library Budget Passes

Budget represents 1.7 percent tax increase.

Voters approved the South Huntington Public Library budget by a large margin Tuesday, 324-54.

Trustee Pat Dillon, who was running unopposed, was re-elected to a five-year term, with 345 votes.

The $5,750,401 budget represents a tax increase of 1.7 percent, or $12.64 on a property assessed at $3,300. That means an average library tax bill of $425.04 and is an increase from this year's budget of $5,653,503.
