Solar Power for St. John's Episcopal
Huntington's second oldest church cuts costs with green technology.

Huntington's second oldest church is getting solar panels.
St. John's Episcopal on Main Street recently received approval from the Town Board to install solar panels on two of its non-historic buildings. Solar panels will be installed on the roofs of Great Hall and on the two-story portion of the nursery school.
Father Allen Shin called it an act of stewardship that will benefit both the congregation and the town.
"We will save 20-25 percent in our utilities expenses, money we can use to continue to create new ministries to serve the Town of Huntington," he told the Town Board in July.
St. John's has been serving Huntington Village since 1745.
