Teen Falsely Reported School Shooting In Cold Spring Harbor: Cops

The student fabricated a shooting after she had a dispute with administrators earlier that morning, police say.

A teenager was arrested after police say she called 911 and falsely reported a school shooting in the Cold Spring Harbor School District on Friday morning.

According to authorities, the 16-year-old student at Cold Spring Harbor Junior Senior High School, who walked out of school in the morning following a dispute with administrators, went home, called 911 and reported a threat of a school shooting at 10:44 a.m.

The teen was arrested at her Cold Spring Harbor home at 11:10 a.m. following an investigation. She was charged with falsely reporting an incident.

She was taken to Huntington Hospital for evaluation and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
