Voter's Guide: Huntington 2018-19 School Budget, Board Election

What you need to know for election day.

Residents in the Huntington Union Free School District will vote on the district's $129,812,991 proposed budget for the 2018-19 school year on Tuesday, May 15.

The proposal calls for a 2.28 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase is 2.68 percent, which is below the tax levy cap.

Residents will have an opportunity to elect three members to the Huntington Board of Education. They are:

  • Christine Biernacki, incumbent
  • Lynda D’Anna
  • Michele Deegan
  • Thomas DiGiacomo, incumbent
  • Alvin White.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Huntington High School, located on Oakwood and McKay Roads.
