The Target store under construction on Jericho Turnpike is taking shape, with parking lot lights added recently and new pavement.
The national discount retailer plans to open the store in October, and says it will add about 250 jobs.
Sarah Van Nevel, a spokeswoman for the company, said Target "is rolling out a new model to include fresh groceries with a new expanded food fresh layout, fresh produce, etc., as well as a selection of fresh meats and bakery items. There will also be an expanded grocery section."

The store is going up on the site of the former Huntington Townhouse.
