2 Injured In Overturn Crash On Sunrise Highway

The crash occurred Thursday morning on top of the Commack Road overpass bridge.

ISLIP, NY — Two people suffered minor injuries after an overturn crash on Sunrise Highway Thursday morning. The Islip Fire Department and Suffolk police responded to the two-car crash on top of the Commack Road overpass bridge at 9:38 a.m.

The two drivers both had non-life threatening injuries and all occupants were able to self extricate from the cars. One person was transported to Southside Hospital and another was evaluated at the scene and refused transport.

The road was closed between 9:53 a.m. and 10:05 a.m.
