35 Islip Student-Musicians Earn SCMEA All-County Recognition

Islip School District students in grades 5 through 10 received recognition for their musical skills.

A total of 21 Islip Middle School student-musicians were selected by the Suffolk
County Music Educators Association for All-County recognition this year.

ISLIP, NY — A total of 35 exceptional Islip student-musicians were selected by the Suffolk County Music Educators Association for All-County recognition this year, the district announced on Thursday.

Students chosen for the the All-County Division 1 Band were Commack Road Elementary School
fifth grader Bentley Steiger, Maud S. Sherwood Elementary School fifth graders Brooke Lemanczyk and Gwen McEnaney, and Islip Middle School sixth graders Ryan Brown, Teagan Quinn and Megan Soto.

In the All-County Division 1 Chorus, students chosen were Commack Road fifth graders Gabrielah Madriz and Candace Sanko, Sherwood fifth grader Sebastian DeFalco, and Islip Middle School sixth graders Mackenzie Rivera and Alyssa Williams.

Students selected in the All-County Division 1 Orchestra were Commack Road fifth graders Malcolm Friedman and Averi Walsh, Sherwood fifth grader Ashley Stephenson, and Islip Middle School sixth graders Avery Glaser, Shea LaGiglia, Natalie Pantaleon and Sara Pellegrino.

Chosen for the All-County Division 2 Band were Islip Middle School seventh grader
Nicholas Gulick and eighth graders Lucas Jordan, Katerina Mennecke, Aiden Nassire, Brady
Reinhart and Jadyn Zink.

Three Maud S. Sherwood Elementary School fifth graders were selected by the Suffolk County Music Educators Association for All-County recognition this year. (Islip School District)

In the All-County Division 2 Chorus were Islip Middle School seventh graders Addison DeFalco, Jacob Secor and Madison Turk.

The All-County Division 2 Orchestra consisted of Islip Middle School seventh grader Isabella Conzo and eighth graders, Connor Oosterom and Avery Roche.

Students chosen for the All-County Division 3 Band were Islip High School sophomores Lia
Guzman and Louise Kane.

Chosen for the All-County Division 3 Chorus were Islip High School sophomores Rebecca Leo, Daniel Rubinson and Daniel Turk.

“This is a well-earned achievement, and we congratulate these students and their teachers on their continued success,” said Director of Fine and Performing Arts Brian Kroll.
