College Board Recognizes 27 Islip AP Scholars
Islip High School students were recognized this week for exceptional achievement on their May 2021 Advanced Placement exams.

ISLIP, NY — Several Islip High School students were recognized this week for exceptional achievement on their May 2021 Advanced Placement exams.
The Islip School district announced Monday that 27 students were acknowledged by the College Board for their outstanding performances.
Additionally, 16 students qualified to receive an AP Seminar and Research Certificate, and six students qualified to receive an AP Capstone diploma upon graduation in June 2022, the district said.

AP courses completed with a score of 3 or higher on the final exam may afford students the opportunity to earn college credit.
Ten students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving a 3 or higher on three or more exams and include: Jesse Caro, Sean Files, Keera Kittles, Juliana Marconi, Angela Padilla, Hasnayn Raza, James Wimmers, Cassandra Zaneski, Brianna Zavala, and Abby Zimmermann.

Eight students received the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more exams and include: Sarah Alvarez, Selina Chan, Bipro Dhar, Connor Edwards, Hannah Evans, Madeline Mulholland, Desiree Pagan and Yousuf Shrivardhankar.
Nine students were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction by earning an average of at least a 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of three or higher on five or more exams and include: Liam Biscari, Carolyn Do, Joyce Johnson, Carlo Lanza, Anthony Lopez, Timothy Mak, Justin Rhodes, Richard Rindos, and Steven Schadt.
Also, Sarah Alvarez, Richie Castronova, Selina Chan, Carolyn Do, Connor Edwards, Sean Files, Kayla Hassell, Joyce Johnson, Ava Kurka, Carlo Lanza, Angela Padilla, Hasnayn Raza, Justin Rhodes, Richard Rindos, Steven Schadt and Serena Trabacchi have qualified to receive an AP Seminar and Research Certificate upon graduation.
Additionally, Liam Biscari, Bipro Dhar, Keera Kittles, Anthony Lopez, Timothy Mak and Desiree
Pagan will receive AP Capstone Diplomas upon graduation.
