Flooding Hazard Issued For Southwest Suffolk: National Weather Service
Residents can expect flooding to occur Thursday night.
ISLIP, NY — A coastal flooding hazard has been issued southwest Suffolk County, near Islip, the National Weather Service announced.
Up to six inches of inundation or minor flooding above ground level is expected "in vulnerable areas" near the waterfront and shoreline, as Long Island receives a rainstorm late Thursday.
There is also a potential for widespread, moderate coastal flooding for the Friday afternoon high tidal cycle.
