Temperatures will reach into the 90s on Thursday on Long Island, and may approach 100 on Friday, a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service said.

The hot weather is due to a "Bermuda High" pressure system is moving in, according to the National Weather Service.

"Bermuda High Pressure will establish itself mid to late this week, setting up a significant warming trend," the NWS New York office tweeted.

On Tuesday night, showers and thunderstorms are likely before midnight with a 60 percent chance of precipitation. then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind 8 to 11 mph.

Thursday: A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Partly sunny, with a high near 91. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. Breezy.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 93.
